Casino gaming is a widespread activity in Montreal. Being the largest city in Canada, Montreal enjoys access to some of the biggest and the best land-based casinos in the country. The city is also an ideal location for vacationers looking to enjoy much more than just gaming.

Although the city doesn’t have an abundance of land-based casinos, the available establishments offer almost everything you’d look for in a casino. This article looks at the top casinos in Montreal, their location, the games they offer, and much more.

The Best Casinos in Montreal

Casino de Montréal

The casino is Montréal’s star attraction, featuring five gaming floors, banquet facilities, four bars and restaurants, and a cabaret hall. According to this article, Casino de Montreal is one of the best casinos in Montreal and Canada at large. The establishment is located on Notre Dame Island, Montreal.

The establishment offers a broad selection of slot machines where gamers get to choose from thousands of machines. If you are a lover of progressive jackpot slots, the casino has an impressive selection.

More so, it has many tables for table games like Baccarat, Blackjack, and Roulette. The facility also has other games like Keno, Bingo, Lotto, and Poker. In essence, Casino de Montréal appeals to gamers with varying preferences, thanks to its selection of different game types.

Casino de Montréal has an aesthetic appeal, with the low ceilings and numerous windows giving it a unique structural feature. Each of the gambling floors is distinguished by a card colour with eye-catching designs displayed discreetly in the aluminum panels.

Besides, numerous mannequins with the effigy of card figures like the Joker and Queen of Hearts greet guests at each recreational zone entrance. The light here is omnipresent and is further projected by the backlit walls and the many lights.

Magic Palace Montreal

Magic Palace  is located in Kahnawake, roughly 15 minutes from Montreal. The facility offers a selection of slot machines, table games like blackjack and roulette, and poker.  Slots, in particular, are the main attraction in this facility. You will find thousands of machines.

Table games are also in plenty and since they have multiple variations, you won’t be confined on a single type. The dealers are very friendly and professional, so you can rest assured that your will have a relaxed gaming.

The operator runs an amazing reward program where you enjoy exciting benefits if you are a member. It’s a four-tier program, including Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Magic. VIPs enjoy benefits like birthday rewards, discounted rates at Host Hotel, valet parking, and free drinks.

While playing at the casino, you can enjoy local and international cuisine from Mirela’s restaurant. It is connected to the casino. For drinks, the casino serves free alcoholic beverages to gamers. If you wish to explore more options, Montreal has several excellent bars.

Other Things to Do in Montreal Except Gambling

Apart from casino gaming, the city has other activities for visitors and residents alike. Here are the places you should visit when in Montreal.

Mont-Royal

The park rises approximately 233 meters above Montreal. It is the city’s green lung, and visitors here love the tranquility of the lush environment. A stroll through the park enables you to see King George VI and Jacques Cartier monuments.

Also, you get to spend quality time by Lac-aux-Castors, an artificial basin with a captivating view. Mont-Royal also unfolds a beautiful panorama of the Saint Lawrence River and Île de Montréal Island.

Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Residents refer to the district as the Old Montreal, mainly because it has buildings from the 17th century. Vieux-Montreal has a gratifying feel of Parisian-style since it’s between a business hub and a waterfront.

You can best explore the district’s historic sites, landmarks, and streets on foot. Among the many fun activities, the highlights include visiting Notre-Dame Basilica, Pointe-à-Callière Museum, the Place Jacques-Cartier open-air meeting space, and the quays at the Old Port.

Jardin Botanique

High above Montreal Park Maisonneuve is the location of the city’s stunning and imaginative botanical garden. The garden has diverse plants grown in thirty themed gardens plus ten exhibition gardens. Outdoor gardens in this site include lovely Chinese and Japanese gardens.

There are also gardens devoted to aquatic, alpine, shade, toxic, and medicinal plants. The rose displays in the garden are beautiful. The soaring greenhouses contain ferns, bonsai, orchids, bromeliads, and a tropical rain forest. Also, there is an arboretum and ponds with bird varieties.

Notre-Dame Basilica

The Basilica was founded in 1656, and to date, it remains the city’s most adored and visited attraction. The modern-day Notre-Dame stands in a greater grander embodiment than the original. Besides, the twin towers stand tall facing Place d’Armes.

The splendid and intricate interior was the brainchild of Victor Bourgeau. The highlights of Notre-Dame are the pipe organ from the Casavant Frères, the magnificent pulpit, and the large glass windows portraying beautiful scenes from Montreal.

Musée des Beaux-Arts

Montreal has a rich history, and there is no better place to experience this than in its different museums. Museums like the Musée des Beaux-Arts (Fine Arts Museums) give you access to Canada’s vast collection of sculpture, new media, and painting.

The masterpieces are by celebrated artists, including Canaletto and Pieter Bruegel. The museum has an extensive collection of Mediterranean Archaeology and World Cultures. Also, it has remarkable collections of Islamic, Asian, African, and South and North America art.

How to Enjoy a Visit to Montreal

Montreal is a city buzzing with endless fun activities. Of course, the first thing to do here is not casino games in one of the city’s casinos. Afterwards, you can take a tour of the historic Old Montreal. It’s the city’s most popular tourist attraction.

If it is your first visit, consider a guided tour as this will help you learn more about the city’s history as you explore the narrow lanes and cobblestone streets. Alternatively, you can consider the three-hour motor tour that includes visits to major sites around the city.

Further, if you want an in-depth experience touring the city, try the Hop-on Hop-off Tour. The option allows you to alight at any of the ten stops for two days. You’ll never run short of things to do in Montreal.
