Toronto: See The Jays, Leafs, Raptors & Argonauts In Action
“The 6ix” is the only city in Canada that has a team in both the NBA (the Raptors) and Major League Baseball) the Blue Jays. The Maple Leafs are one of seven Canadian NHL teams, and the Argonauts are among the nine teams that play in the CFL.
The Maple Leafs and Raptors share the same venue, Scotiabank Arena, in downtown Toronto. The Blue Jays play at the nearby Rogers Centre, and both the Argos and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer play at BMO Field.
Auston Matthews’ Leafs are coming off yet another trip to the postseason, albeit one that ended in heartbreaking fashion. Both the Leafs and Raptors commence their 2022-23 seasons in October.
The Blue Jays are about to enter the MLB postseason for just the fourth time since their last World Series championship (in 1993). The Argonauts will have home advantage on the East Division side of the CFL postseason, meaning they’ll have to win just one game to qualify for the 109th Grey Cup.
Ontario sports betting went live back in April, becoming the first Canadian province to launch legalized mobile/online sports gambling. Customers in Canada’s most populated province can play through popular apps such as DraftKings, Caesars and PointsBet.
The Maple Leafs enter 2022-23 as one of the main favorites to win the Stanley Cup. FanDuel has Sheldon Keefe’s squad at +1000, tied for the second-best odds with the Carolina Hurricanes behind only the defending champion Colorado Avalanche (+450).
Over at Ontario sportsbooks, the Blue Jays have the sixth-best odds of winning the 2022 World Series at +1400, trailing only the Los Angeles Dodgers (+350), Houston Astros (+425), New York Yankees (+500), New York Mets (+550) and Atlanta Braves (+800).
The Raptors finished as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference last season. They’re a perennial playoff team like the Leafs, so you should try to see Toronto’s sports teams in action during your trip to Ontario.
