These are repeated actions or habits, more of what an individual tries to change—the result of stimuli, a response to an event or action. Examples of such behaviour include substance use, screaming, and avoidance. However, these behaviours are built on particular beliefs, which can sometimes be irrational

The outcomes of the behaviour are the consequences. These are the fruits of thoughts and beliefs born from the original motivation.

All sports activities are mental games rather than physical. By saying this, it does not mean the physical aspect is not in use. Instead, by saying it is a mental game, it simply means that the mental state dictates the results more than the physical state. 

Many actions or antecedents can happen in an athlete’s environment and can affect how they think or how they will behave, ultimately affecting their goals. For example, if a match is coming and an athlete is compared to someone else, this can be a positive or a negative antecedent or an activating event.

The fact he is being compared can make them think that they can never be like them, and this, though, can lead them to poor practice, losing streaks, or can induce stress. The consequence can be a failed match! Understand the athlete’s mind: the ABC model helps psychologists understand what triggers the athletes, how they handle the triggers, and the consequences of their behaviour.
