CMU is located on the University of Winnipeg campus and operates as Menno Simons College. With majors in 19 topics and pre-professional studies in about 26 subjects, CMU provides four bachelor’s degrees and four graduate degrees. 6.1) Allied Arts

Studies in the Humanities (theology, literature, music, languages, Bible, philosophy, ethics), Social Sciences (history, psychology, sociology, economics, geography, business, peace and conflict transformation, communications, international development), and Sciences are all emphasized in a liberal arts education at CMU.

Such a thorough education encourages critical thinking, a wide range of information and abilities, and a sense of humility, wonder, and awe. It prepares students for career options they can’t yet imagine and an unknowable future.

7. Canadian Mennonite University Campus

A small, Christian liberal arts university called Canadian Mennonite University Campus was founded in 2000.
A total of 43 acres make up the campus.
There are nearly 200 undergraduates who reside on campus.
The only student organization that speaks for all students is CMU Student Council.
Student Affairs has numerous offices that address a variety of requirements of the students, such as community involvement, leadership development, residential programs, and public service.

Approximately 200 UG students are now residing on campus. Additionally, students have the option of living off-campus.

To take advantage of the on-campus housing provided by CMU, applicants must complete the online housing registration form by May 30.

Apartments, shared dorm rooms, single dorm rooms, etc., are among the three alternatives offered to students for on-campus housing.

Students are expected to participate in an apartment food plan every week.

8. Bachelor’s degrees offered at CMU:

Biblical and Theological Studies, English, History, Mathematics, International Development Studies, Music, Peace and Conflict Transformation Studies, Communications and Media, Philosophy, Political Studies, Psychology, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, and Science with concentrations in Applied Mathematics, Biochemistry, Biology, Ecology, and Mathematics, as well as Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Music, are among the 19 BA majors. Programs of study differ in terms of these degrees’ concentrations, minors, and pre-professional studies.

9. Graduate degrees offered at CMU:

Graduate degrees include an MA in Peacebuilding, Collaborative Development and Divinity, Theological Studies, and Christian Ministry.

10. Practica offered at CMU:

A practicum component offers students opportunities for work-integrated learning and establishes crucial professional connections through participation in the community and the workplace. All degree programs include a practicum requirement for graduation.

11. Financial Aid & Scholarships

1) For International Students

The university provides scholarships for international students who desire to study in Canada. Although international students can be allowed to qualify for scholarships, they are not eligible for total tuition grants because of limitations. However, they are qualified to apply for specialized scholarships and awards.

Note that international students are not qualified for leadership or academic admission scholarships. Literary merit awards, music merit awards, business merit awards, science merit awards, and many more are among the remaining scholarships.

Over 50% of students receive financial assistance in some capacity.

UG candidates must submit their scholarship applications by February 28.

While attending CMU, students can apply for jobs on and off campus.

2) For General Students

Three hundred eighty-three different scholarships and bursaries are available to students at CMU. More than 50% of CMU students get financial aid through grants, fellowships, awards, or bursaries.

12. Athletics:

CMU participates in volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, and the Manitoba College Athletic Conference (MCAC). The MCAC offers its teams the ability to compete against the best interprovincial teams in Canada because it participates in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Assiniboine Community College Cougars, Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges, Providence University College Pilots, University of Brandon Bobcasts, and Canadian Mennonite University Blazers are among the six Manitoba institutions that make up the MCAC.

13. Menno Simons College:

Menno Simons College is owned and run by CMU and is located on the University of Winnipeg campus. Through the University of Winnipeg, Menno Simons College provides undergraduate programs in global development studies and conflict resolution studies.

14. Graduate Network

CMU alumni receive Alumni Benefit Cards, which they can use to receive discounts at CommonWord Bookstore and Resource Centre, lunches, meeting spaces, folio café, conference rates discounts, and blazer home games. They can also access employment boards, library resources, and course audit discounts.

Some prominent alumni are Cameron Friesen, a Canadian politician and MLA of Manitoba for Modern Winkler; Rudy Wiebe, an author, and lecturer at the University of Alberta; Beth Goobie, a poet and Rudy Wiebe.

CMU assists students in preparing for the workforce by teaching them the art of writing applications and cover letters and participating in interviews.

CMU helps students obtain placements in two ways: through the Practicum Program and access to more than 500 local and international partner organizations.

Universities Canada (UC) is a national organization that speaks for all of Canada’s public and private non-profit schools and universities. UC plays a leading role in creating public policies about higher education and promotes collaboration between universities, governments, businesses, communities, and institutions abroad. Membership in Universities Canada is a sign of high-quality higher education that is well-recognized in Canada and overseas when accompanied by the relevant provincial legislation.

Institutions Canada now has 96 Canadian colleges and universities as members. Universities Canada gave CMU full membership in the fall of 2008. This “gold mark of approval” ensures students that their CMU degrees will be recognized at other Canadian colleges and universities and makes credit transfers simpler, together with the degree-granting license from the government of Manitoba. For alumni of CMU, academic transitions into professional and graduate programs are becoming more commonplace thanks to Universities Canada.
