Savor Vinarterta and Poutine
Echo Wang, CEO and Co-Founder, Cool Travel Vibes
For a truly Canadian feast, savor a slice of vinarterta for dessert after indulging in a hearty poutine. The sweet and savory combo is a taste explosion you won’t forget. Vinarterta, a decadent layered dessert with its buttery crust, creamy cheese filling, and tangy fruit topping, is an absolute delight.
Head to Quebec City and hunt down the perfect vinarterta at a charming local bakery. Savor each bite in a café overlooking the St. Lawrence River for an unforgettable experience. And no Canadian food journey is complete without poutine.
From the classic gravy and cheese curds on fries to gourmet twists with foie gras or pulled pork, there’s a poutine out there for every palate. Explore Montreal’s ‘poutine alleys’ or venture into remote towns and discover regional variations—who knows, you might stumble upon your new favorite!
Try Poutine and Real Maple Syrup
Scott Sidders, Co-Founder and CEO, Scott & Yanling Media Inc.
If you’ve never had poutine before, you should definitely try it while in Canada. My family also runs a small sugar shack where we make pure Canadian maple syrup, so I suggest you try some real maple syrup. It’s an incredible product and a great gift to bring home, too.
Canada is so vast that it can be hard to see all the must-see attractions in one visit, but I would prioritize a trip out to Niagara Falls. I’ve been several times, and it still amazes me as much as the first time. The CN Tower in Toronto is a must-see. The CN Tower 360 Restaurant gives you a full view of the city and has some fantastic 45-day-aged prime rib. Montreal is a fun city with lots to explore, too.
If you can make the trip, try seeing Banff National Park and Jasper. Go on the Columbia Icefield Adventure while you’re there and see the glacier. I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface. Canada has so much to see and do. You’re absolutely welcome here and have an awesome trip!
Enjoy Atlantic Salmon and Saskatoon Berries
Abid Salahi, Co-founder & CEO, FinlyWealth
As a tech CEO who bleeds maple syrup, I recommend savoring Atlantic salmon from Newfoundland and Labrador and the sweet, distinctive Saskatoon berries from the Prairies. Don’t miss out on Canada’s exquisite scenery, either.
Soak up the peacefulness of Prince Edward Island’s red-sand beaches, relish the architectural beauty of Winnipeg’s Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and immerse yourself in the European charm of Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica. Don’t just visit Canada; experience it.
