Naramata BC is a community located in the southern Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, north of Penticton. The Naramata Bench is a popular spot for winemaking in British Columbia. They are known for their high-quality wine and award-winning wineries.

1. Therapy Vineyards

Therapy is a great way to release stress and do something good for yourself, a little pampering. Everyone could use a little therapy in their life.

Therapy Vineyards aims to bring great wines to people that taste delicious and distinct in flavor. The therapy vineyard is also an inn, so you can book a luxury room to stay in while waiting for your therapy session.

Some of the wines presented here include Chardonnay 2018 (aroma includes white peaches, apricots, orange, and jasmine), Pink Freud (it is an old-fashioned wine with the flavors of rose petals, strawberry, and Doris plums), Super Ego 2018 (it is a mixture of wines like Cabernet Franc, Merlot grapes, and Cabernet Sauvignon), Reserve merlot and more.

It has an online store where you can order your wines that get sent in a set of either 6 or 12 if you are in a winery club. The daily working hours of the Naramata winery are 11 AM to 5 PM.

2. Hillside Estate Winery Vineyards

Hillside Estate Winery Vineyards is located on Naramata Road, Penticton BC V2a. They use ingredients authentically grown and raised in Naramata. You can enjoy your wine and some snacks with the hillside view in the background.

It has a bistro included so you can have wine and food along with it. Choosing the food that goes along well with the assortments of wines available there.

Some of the available wines are 2019 Unoaked Pinot Gris, 2013 Gjoa’s Vineyard Merlot, and more.

The working hours for Hillside Winery are from 10 AM to 5 PM. There is a reservation necessary for tasting wines. And as a bonus, it is also pet-friendly.

3. Daydreamer Wines

It is a family-run winery located on the Naramata Bench in British Columbia. While making wines, they opt for small batches and take a sustainable approach. They prepare a limited production and remain loyal to the local origin; Naramata Bench ingredients are used.

The wines included in the wine tour are Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Viognier. Here, you get a chance to taste handcrafted wines and see sustainable practices of making wine.

You must make a reservation before coming here, or you will not get the best experience or a chance at a tasting event.

Wines that were released recently were Riesling 2020, Pinot Gris 2020, and Rachels’ Cuvée 2019. The winery is pet-friendly and child-friendly. There is access to wheelchairs too.

4. Poplar Grove Winery

Poplar Grove Winery is a family-run winery and has been operated by one family through the past years. In 2007, Tony Holler and Barb Holler bought the Poplar winery on the Naramata Bench. It is one of the popular Naramata wineries with a restaurant.

They are known to handcraft popular wine types like The Legacy, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Some of the wines include 2019 Viognier, 2018 Reserve Chardonnay, award-winning wine 2016 Syrah, Munson Mountain Cabernet, and more. One more award-winning wine that won the gold medal at the Decanter World Wine is the 2016 Legacy.

They have a special tasting room, which they guarantee to give you a benchmark experience. You will be experienced guides with you to take you through the tasting of their signature wines. The duration is around 20-30 minutes.

You can even host events here on special requests. It can be a corporate event or a private event. They even host weddings at the winery.

You’ll learn all about the wine-making process and taste the different types of wines that they offer. The working hours of the winery are from 11 AM – 6 PM.

5. Lake Breeze Vineyard Wineries

Lake Breeze Vineyard is one of the Naramata Wineries that explore lakeside views and farm-style settings. They have a farmstead which gives the guests the real experience of farm life. They can roam around, explore the farm, smell the fresh herbs, and take in nature around them.

There is a tasting room, and for a grander setting, they have a courtyard tasting. However, only a group of more than 10 people can have access to the courtyard tasting. The daily tasting timings are between 11 AM – 3 PM. The wines are also on sale during the same time as tasting.

There is a Patio restaurant where you can eat something to satisfy your hunger and enjoy wine. Unfortunately, the Patio at Lake breeze is only available through reservations beforehand. Without reservations, the chances of being accepted in the restaurant are low.

Some of the wines included are chardonnay and pinot noir, Syrah, Semillon, rose’, and many more wines available in the collection.

6. Joie Farm Winery

Joie Farm Winery is a prestigious and well-known Naramata Wineries. It is more of an outdoor salon where you can sit and relax while eating and having your wine. The tasting room has a warm atmosphere and a friendly environment.

The word Joie means ‘joy’ in French. It is used to explain the feeling of joy and warmth you get when tasting wine or eating food. They have been making wines inspired by Europe since 2004. A lot of their wines are award-winning and famous among locals and tourists.

Their signature wine blends include En Famille Reserve Chardonnay and Re-think Pink Rose’. Other wines include 2020 A Noble Blend, 2020 En Famille Muscat, Moscato Frizzante, and more.

The timings for tasting are from 12 noon to 5 PM, from Thursday to Monday. They also have a separate club for the guests called En Famille Club, making the guests a family connected to Joie Farm. As a result, they get access to new wines before they are released to others.

7. Deep Roots Winery

Deep Roots Winery is owned and operated by a family on the Naramata Bench. The winery includes the hard work of four generations together. They first produced a vintage in 2012 and finally opened their door to wine tasting in 2014.

The farm began as a place for apple farming. Later, grapes were planted for experimenting. Finally, however, the family decided to leave apple farming behind and manage a vineyard with a plantation of grapes and vines.

They have some award-winning wines in their collection. 2017 Syrah, one of their wines, won the Wine of the Year at Lieutenant Governor’s award for Best Wine in British Columbia 2019.

Some red wines include the 2018 Cabernet Franc, 2019 Reserve Gamay, 2018 Parentage Red, and 2018 Malbec. White wines include 2020 Parentage White, 2020 Unoaked Chardonnay, and 2020 Rose. There are more wines in the collection apart from these.

Their online shop is open 24/7 and every day. The physical winery is open 7 days a week from 11 AM to 5 PM.

8. Lang Vineyards

Lang Vineyards is British Columbia’s very first farm-gate winery and a place with the oldest wines. One of the wineries with the oldest wines produced on Naramata Bench.

It is located in the Okanagan Valley. It has an absolutely breathtaking view of the valley.

They first began their work in 1990. Slowly rising in popularity, they became one of the most well-known Naramata Wineries in Okanagan Valley.

They have a proper system with high-quality equipment to cater to the need of the wines. They store their white wines in stainless steel tanks and red wines in storage bins for the first stage of fermentation.

For a long time, Lang Vineyards has been a promoter of Marechal Foch, a kind of French hybrid. It used to be everywhere in Okanagan Valley once, but not anymore.

Lang Vineyards even hosts weddings in their beautiful location of vineyards on the Naramata Bench. The lake and mountains make for a gorgeous background for weddings and wedding receptions.
